Time to Change: Sign up to In Your Corner 2020
Create an open culture around mental health among students, teachers and parents.
Did you know that 1 in 8 young people aged 5 to 19 will face a mental health problem? 90% of people with mental health problems say they've faced stigma and discrimination as a result - and those negative reactions can be harder to deal with than the mental health problem itself.
Lots of us have felt worried about the coronavirus pandemic. While the focus is often on physical health, it'll be impacting our mental health too. You don't need to be an expert to have conversations with your colleagues and students about mental health or to run an activity. Simple conversations and sessions in school can make a big difference so that no one feels isolated or ashamed.
Time to Change have compiled this pack of small steps you, your senior leaders, your students and their parents could take to help make this generation more open about mental health than any before.
You'll receive 4 short session plans, guidance, powerpoints and films to help you make an impact.
The resources are ideal for form time, lessons or assemblies and easily adaptable for classroom or remote learning. To get involved and to support the 'In Your Corner' campaign, please sign up here: TIME TO CHANGE
